This is 28

I know I'm not that old, but gosh, it already feels like I've been alive forever. My body aches and creaks, the kids these days confuse the hell out of me, and most of the time, I just want to be home by 9.

If you had asked 4-year-old me where I saw myself at 28 I would've said, "Married with four kids, living in a shack in Jamaica." (Don't ask me why I specifically chose a shack, I honestly have no idea.)

I've accomplished exactly none of that, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Sure, life could be better, but it could also be a whole lot worse. Besides, birthday month ended up being amazing, especially considering I almost didn't celebrate it this year.

What did I get up to?

• Went to Cirque du Soleil

• Stuffed my face with pastries

• Spent a day at the beach

• Attended a concert

And a few of you went above and beyond to make it even more special. Whether it was surprising me with gifts, making the trip just to spend time with me during birthday month, or simply wishing me a happy birthday, you all know how to make a girl feel special.

So, thank you to everyone who brings a smile to my face every time we meet. You help make life that much more enjoyable.
